Igor Mikeshin is a social and cultural anthropologist. Igor received his PhD in the University of Helsinki, Finland in 2016; MA in Sociology and Social Anthropology in Central European University, Budapest, in 2011; and MS in Sociology in St. Petersburg State University in 2010. His research interests include anthropological studies of Evangelical Christianity and substance abuse in Russia, prison and drug culture, and higher education.
Igor’s recent research is focused on the rehabilitation ministry for the addicted people run by the Russian Baptist Church. This study scrutinizes a two-dimensional process of Christian Rehabilitation consisting bodily detoxication and radical moral transformation.
