Marko Uibu is a lecturer of communication studies and a PhD fellow of religious studies at the University of Tartu, Estonia. Based on the study of Estonian spiritual practitioners, his PhD dissertation (November 2016) addresses contemporary religiosity from the perspective of practitioners and the wider cultural context in Estonia. As health-related concerns emerged saliently during his research, he has explored different manifestations of medical pluralism. Marko published several academic and non-academic articles about Estonian spiritual practitioners and has edited the first Estonian book collecting scientific studies about new spiritualities.
